Shopping for a Communion Dress can be an unholy experience

While it’s the church’s job to prepare girls for their first holy communion, outside of the spiritual assistance, a parent’s most challenging task is usually to find a communion dress that fits your child and budget. There is certainly a gap in the market for communion dresses. Bridal shops and chain retailers may carry a few, and you’ll run into a few children’s clothing stores that carry a handful of communion dresses.

As the communion dress is usually the first formal gown that your daughter gets to pick out, there’s a great deal at stake. Taking her on a parade of stores where the selection is small and sizing difficult often leads to a “whatever it costs” mentality. There is no reason that shopping for a communion dress should be a major drama. Go online. Many quality designers display a large selection of communion dresses online, and can either sell to you direct, or guide you to a local shop that carries the design and size you need. Take a page from your kid’s lives and use the Internet. The quest for a communion dress will be much less stressful.
